Cake, Cake and more CAKE!!!

When you think of cake you may think yummy icing on chocolate one layer cake... But when I think of cake I think, Three tier chocolate and vanilla marble cake topped off with marshmallow fondant and some sugar icing flowers. When you are creating a drawing you think... what colors do I use with what colors? and what am I really drawing behind this emotion? When I am making a cake I think to create a sense of happiness and great tasting joy throughout my decoration and the intricacy of my designs. Even though I am only 14 years old I feel that making cakes has given me an opportunity to give some of my joy to others through the great happines that comes with a holiday or wedding/aniversary cake... So enjoy and have fun baking cakes to spread the joy!!!

From Chocolate to Chocolate and Everything Inbetween

Chocolate is a worldwide source of joy to all people... with it's sense of smooth and creamy-like substance when melted to it's solid form of happiness and cocoa flavor(s). Chocolate originated from a bean pod called the Cocoa bean and in latin it was called the Cakco bean from the source of the Cocoa bean tree. Chocolate has been a source of joy to us ever scince before Christopher Columbus "founded" the United States of America. And in a cake it does wonders at all types of parties and get-togethers. I have used white cake mix more often than chocolate but when I do use chocolate cake mix everyone who tries it says " Oh my gosh this is wonderful!" or " Wow it tastes like chocolate fresh off the vines!" You should unlock the secrets of the Cakco bean too...

Traditional White Cake

Birthday Cakes.... White cake mix
Wedding Cakes.... White cake mix
Elegant party Cakes..... White cake mix
For fun Cakes.... White cake mix
You see... white cake mix is a pure American dream treat ( as well as other countries...) used in almost any cake you can imagine. White cake mix has been around scince the thirteenth century and is used worldwide to this day. White cake mix is used in the following also: Cake pops, cakes of any kind, cupcakes, and often times buiscuts use white cake mix also. My family and I use white cake mix in our cakes all the time and so do the neighboring houses and families. For many special ocasions I have baked cakes or cupcakes using white cake mix because you can incorporate food coloring of your choice and the cake mix will turn your desired color. (which i found amazing for halloween and christmas or any other holiday because it was so fun for my brother and sister to watch the cake mix change color when they would stir it) So have fun with the American dream treat!!! (other countries included) ( p.s. the video above is a recipe for traditional white cake)

Decorating with Icing or Frosting (tips)

When decorating a cake using either icing or frosting you need to be mindful of these few things.....
1. Crumbs from your cake must be dusted off before you frost or ice to prevent the icing or frosting from becoming chunkey or distorted....
2. Frosting or icing is in fact sticky enough to hold fondant to the base or interior of the cake you are designing
3. Icing is much thicker than most frostings
4. You can shape frosting to do whatever you want with it (ex. use the tongs of a fork to create a whisp at the peak of the frosting)
5. You cannot use cake paint on frosting although you can airbrush a cake paint design if desired
6. Also you cannot use cake paint on icing (use airbrush designing)
7. Cake paint is only to be used on the smooth surface of fondant
8. And most importantly.... HAVE FUN!!!
